One Loss, One Desire to Help
Have you ever imagined what life would be like waking up to find that you child was no longer part of your life? Erased as though one never existed, yet finding yourself swarmed in memories of all the times shared, good and bad. The thought is terrifying.
For thousands of parents, the grim reality awaits each morning when they awake. For one reason or another, a child that once filled their hearts with joy is no longer present, leaving a shattered world to face.
As the old adage says, "Time heals all wounds." Though that statement means little to a parent in pain, it is true. It has now been eight years since I said good-bye to my son. I've managed to come a long way in those years, but still find myself lost in thought as to the type of child Reiley would be at this point in time.
Shortly after Reiley's death, I began to investigate what it would take to create an organization aimed at assisting those who have the unfortunate experience such as in my situation. Over the years, I've found a stronger need to assist families with their loss. It is because of the years of thinking, planning and now doing that Reiley's Angels has come to fruition.
The premise behind this organization is to assist as many families as possible with their final expenses associated with the loss of their precious child. While the pain will not lessen with the help, knowing that someone is willing to reach out brings an amazing feeling when facing many months and years of emotional torment ahead.
